Narita

It is only a 20-minute drive from Narita International Airport, so many foreign tourists visiting Narita are now seen here.

Naritasan Shinsho-ji Temple has a history of more than 1,080 years and is one of the most popular temples in Japan, attracting more than 10 million visitors annually.

Behind Naritasan Shinshoji Temple is a vast park covering 165,000 square meters. Many citizens and visitors to Naritasan visit this park as a place of recreation and relaxation where they can enjoy the seasonal expressions of plum blossoms and cherry blossoms in spring, greenery in summer, and autumn leaves in fall.

Omotesando, or Omotesando Street, stretches approximately 800 meters from in front of Narita Station. It has flourished as a gate town since the Edo period (1603-1867) and still retains the vestiges of those days.

Sakura Furusato Plaza

Located on the lakeside on the south side of Inba-numa, the park is beautiful in all seasons. Sakura City has had a long history of historical and cultural exchange with the Netherlands since the Edo period. As a symbol of this goodwill, an authentic Dutch windmill stands majestically in the park.

From late March to mid-April, the “Sakura Tulip Festa” is held with approximately 800,000 tulips in bloom. With the exotic windmills in the background, the festival attracts many tourists who come to take pictures of the colorful flowers spreading all over the city. Awa Kamogawa

Minami-Boso

Located at the southernmost tip of the Kanto Plain, Minami-Boso City in Chiba Prefecture is an area rich in nature with beautiful coastlines and scenic spots.

Cape with a spectacular view: Nojimazaki is a cape jutting out into the Pacific Ocean with a beautiful coastline of rocks and grasslands. It is especially famous for its beautiful sunsets, which are spectacular during sunset hours.

Lighthouse: The white Nojimazaki Lighthouse stands at the top of the island. The view from the lighthouse is spectacular, offering a panoramic view of the surrounding ocean and scenic landscape.

Sawtooth Mountain Ropeway

Sawtooth Mountain, designated as Minami-Boso National Park, has been known since the Muromachi period (1336-1573) for its high quality Boshu stone, which was quarried for building and civil engineering work. The “rock cliff” that remains as a vertical cliff, together with “Jigoku-nozoki,” or “peek-a-boo view of hell,” a rocky outcropping from the cliff, is a superb scenic spot. The steep, saw-toothed ridges that gave the area its name have long been a landmark for ships entering Tokyo Bay.

Mother Farm

This sightseeing ranch is located on Mt. Shikano, overlooking the mountains of the Boso Peninsula, Tokyo Bay, and Mt. Fuji. Many animals live on the spacious grounds, including sheep, cows, horses, goats, rabbits, guinea pigs, capybaras, and alpacas.

Various events are held every day, such as a sheep parade, a dairy cow hand-sucking experience, and a kobuta race, and visitors can also enjoy interacting with the animals at the petting farm and feeding spots.

Katsuura morning market

The Katsuura morning market has been in existence for about 430 years. It began as a place for fishermen and farmers to barter for goods, and the market is filled with seasonal vegetables, wild vegetables, seafood, and more.

Held twice a month, the Asaichi Marche features a variety of unique stores, including handmade goods and kitchen cars, and is expanding as a new form of morning market. The morning market is not only a place to get fresh and tasty food, but also a place to experience human-to-human contact, which is a unique attraction of morning markets.

Inubosaki Lighthouse

The white lighthouse stands at the easternmost tip of Choshi Peninsula, on a plateau surrounded by the sea on three sides, at the tip of Inubozaki, which juts out into the Pacific Ocean. Designed by the British engineer Blanton and completed in 1874, it was the first structure made of domestic bricks. It has high historical value and was designated as a National Important Cultural Property in 2020.

Inubozaki Lighthouse was selected as one of the 100 best lighthouses in the world and one of the 50 best lighthouses in Japan, and is one of the few lighthouses that can be climbed.

Otaki Castle

A castle-style (three-story, four-story reinforced concrete structure) history museum built on the “Joso-Otaki Castle Honmaru site,” a designated prefectural historic site.

Otaki Castle was first entered by the Takeda clan in the first half of the 16th century, and later by Honda Tadakatsu, one of the four Tokugawa lords, in 1590, after which the castle became the residence of feudal lords.
