Tateyama Kurobe
The Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route, one of the world’s most famous mountain tourism routes, runs through the 3,000-meter-high peaks of the Northern Alps. One of the most popular spring events is the world-famous “Yuki-no-Otani (Snow Valley) Walk. In the “Yuki-no-Otani Walk,” visitors can walk along one side of a path between two walls of snow that have been opened up for pedestrians to walk along. The snow wall up close is more impressive than you can imagine! The contrast between the white of the snow and the blue sky is refreshing. The “Snow Corridor,” created by clearing snow from the pathway connecting the rooftop of the Murodo Terminal and the Tateyama Nature Conservation Center, is over 8 meters high in April, and is as powerful as the snow-covered valley.
Shomyo Falls
Shomyo Fall, one of the most unexplored spots in Toyama Prefecture, has the highest drop in Japan. The spectacle of the dynamic cascade of water splashing down is a sight to behold. It is a nationally designated scenic beauty and natural monument, and has been selected as one of the 100 best waterfalls in Japan and one of the 100 best soundscapes in Japan.
Kurobe Dam

The “Kurobe Dam” was called the “Great Project of the Century” due to its large scale and unimaginable difficulties.
It is one of the largest dams in Japan, built in the magnificent natural environment of Kurobe.
