Alpine Route Tour Reference Itinerary

Day1 🛬ARRIVE JAPAN

Day2 KYOTO ARASHIYAMA – KINKAKUJI – GUJO HACHIMAN – TAKAYAMA

Arashiyama: Located in Kyoto Prefecture, this beautiful tourist destination is particularly attractive for its natural scenery. In addition to the beautiful scenery including Wataratsuki Bridge, the bamboo grove path and Arashiyama Park are also popular spots. Especially during the cherry blossom season in spring and the autumn foliage season in fall, many tourists visit the area to enjoy the wonderful scenery. The surrounding area is also dotted with historical temples and shrines, offering a wealth of cultural experiences. Onsen (hot springs) and local cuisine also make this a place well worth a visit.

Kinkakuji (Rokuonji): This prominent Zen temple in Kyoto City is especially noted for its beautiful golden buildings. The building consists of two and three tiers covered with gold leaf, and together with the surrounding pond and garden, it offers a seasonal view. Kinkakuji was built in the 14th century and has been rebuilt several times since then, but the current building was restored in 1955. For tourists, this is a spot where they can experience history and beauty in a quiet atmosphere.

Gujo Hachiman: This beautiful castle town in Gifu Prefecture is a fascinating blend of nature and history. Gujo Hachiman Castle is especially famous, and the view from the castle is spectacular. The town still retains traditional wooden architecture, and just strolling around is a tasteful experience.

Day3 TAKAYAMA MORNING MARKET – JINYA – SHIRAKAWAGO – TOMIYAMA

Shirakawa-go: Located in the mountains of Gifu Prefecture, this Gassho-style village is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is characterized by traditional thatched-roof houses, and in winter, the beautiful scenery is covered with snow. The gassho-zukuri style houses are designed to withstand the weight of snow, and the unique local culture and natural environment are combined in this place. Visitors can tour the historic buildings and enjoy local specialties. The beautiful scenery in each of the four seasons is an attractive feature of this spot.

Hida Takayama: This is a beautiful tourist destination with old townscapes and traditional culture. Especially popular are the historical government office called “Takayama Jinya” and “Sanmachi Street” where visitors can enjoy the old townscape. Hida beef, a local specialty, and handmade crafts are also worth seeing. In addition, the Takayama Festival in spring and the Autumn Festival attract many tourists with their gorgeous floats. The seasonal nature and elegant townscape make this a very attractive spot.

Day4 ONE DAY ALPINE ROUTE TOUR

Alpine Route: The Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route is a sightseeing route for enjoying the beautiful nature of the Northern Alps, and is especially famous for the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route. This route connects Tateyama, Kurobe Dam, and Daikanbo, and offers spectacular scenery in all seasons. The high walls of snow at Yukino Ootani in particular are breathtaking.

Day5 TSUMAGOJUKU – NAGASHIMA RESORT

Tsumagojuku: Located on Kisoji Road, this historic inn town is a place that retains strong traces of the Edo period. With its beautiful wooden streets and traditional buildings, visitors can feel the atmosphere of those days just by strolling around. In particular, the main street of Tsumago Yado is dotted with souvenir stores, cafes, and craft stores where visitors can enjoy local specialties and handmade goods. The surrounding area is also rich in nature and offers hiking and outdoor activities. The combination of history and nature makes this an attractive spot well worth a visit.

Nagashima Resort: Located in Mie Prefecture, this large-scale resort facility offers a wide variety of activities in a rich natural setting. It has hot spring facilities, a golf course, and an amusement park (Nagashima Spaland), and is a popular spot for families and couples. In particular, the hot springs are well known as a relaxing and therapeutic place to spend time while enjoying the beautiful scenery of the surrounding area. Day6 NAGASHIMA – OSAKA CITY

Shinsaibashi: Known as a shopping district, it is lined with many brand-name stores and restaurants. The Shinsaibashi shopping arcade in particular is a continuous arcade where visitors can enjoy shopping and eating.

Dotonbori: Dotonbori is one of Osaka’s most popular tourist attractions, with its neon-lit billboards and specialty foods. The Glico sign and the giant crab sign of Kani Doraku are especially famous and popular photo spots. Osaka’s food culture, including takoyaki and okonomiyaki, can be enjoyed in this area. Together, both areas offer visitors a chance to experience the vibrant Osaka atmosphere.
