Day1 ARRIVE JAPAN FUKUOKA→SASEBO
Day2 KUJUKU ISLANDS PLEASURE BOAT→NAGASAKI
Kujuku Islands Pleasure Boat: The Kujuku Islands Cruise is a sightseeing boat that takes passengers around the beautiful Kujuku Islands in Sasebo City, Nagasaki Prefecture. This area is a scenic area consisting of about 208 islands, with spectacular views of the blue sea and lush greenery.
Glover Garden: This beautiful garden is home to the residence of Thomas Glover, a 19th century trader, and features historic buildings and a Western-style garden. The view overlooking Nagasaki’s harbor is also an attraction.
Oura Tenshudo: The oldest Christian church in Japan, located in Nagasaki City, was built in 1864. This beautiful Gothic-style building is of great historical value and is designated as an Important Cultural Property. It symbolizes the history of Christians in Nagasaki and is not only beautiful on the outside, but also fascinating inside with its stained glass windows and decorations. In particular, the church’s surrounding area offers beautiful views of the port and city of Nagasaki.
Megane Bridge: The oldest arched stone bridge in Japan, it offers a picturesque view. Surrounded by beautiful waterfront, it is an ideal spot for a stroll.
Dejima: A man-made island where the Dutch trading post was located during the Edo period, Dejima has exotic buildings and a museum where visitors can learn about the history of trade and cultural exchange at that time.
Nagasaki Peace Park: This park was established to remember the devastation of the atomic bombing, and is lined with Ambassador of Peace statues and monuments, providing a quiet atmosphere for contemplation.
Day3 DOLPHIN WATCHING→KUMAMOTO CASTLE→KUMAMOTO
Nagasaki Dolphin Watching: This is a popular tourist activity that takes place in the beautiful waters of Nagasaki Prefecture. You can observe wild dolphins mainly in the waters around Nagasaki City. The tour is accompanied by a professional guide who explains the ecology and behavior of the dolphins. Participants can enjoy the graceful swimming of dolphins up close from the boat, and if they are lucky, they may observe dolphins jumping and behaving in groups.
Kumamoto Castle: Kumamoto Castle is a historical castle located in Kumamoto City and is known as one of the three most famous castles in Japan, built in 1590 and featuring a magnificent castle tower and beautiful stone walls that give visitors a sense of its grandeur. Kumamoto Castle was partially damaged by the 2016 earthquake, but restoration work is underway and the castle is regaining its appeal as a tourist attraction.
Day4 KUMAMOTO→KURISHIMA JINGU SHRINE→SAND HOT SPRING
Kirishima Jingu Shrine: A sacred place surrounded by the beautiful nature of Mount Kirishima. The shrine dates back to the time of Emperor Jinmu, and is revered as the guardian deity of the region. The shrine grounds include a magnificent main hall and a beautiful garden, where visitors can relax in a tranquil atmosphere. The shrine is also known as a power spot, attracting many worshippers.
Ibusuki Sand Onsen: This unique hot spring resort in Ibusuki City, Kagoshima Prefecture, features a style of spa therapy in which visitors are buried in the sand. By burying the entire body in warm sand, visitors can expect a relaxing and health-promoting effect. The spa is offered in the form of burying users on a special beach after the sand is heated to about 60 degrees Celsius. Along with the pleasant warmth, visitors can enjoy a relaxing time near the ocean. After the sand spa, visitors can warm themselves in a nearby hot spring.
Day5 SENGANEN GARDEN→SAKURAJIMA→UDOJINGU SHRINE→MIYAZAKI
Senganen Garden: A beautiful Japanese garden in Kagoshima City, Kagoshima Prefecture, with Kagoshima Bay and Sakurajima in the background, Senganen was established in 1863 as a villa of the Satsuma clan and is a spot of great historical value. The garden has a pond, waterfalls, and seasonal flowers, and visitors can enjoy the beauty of nature as they stroll through the garden.
Sakurajima: An active volcano in Kagoshima Bay, Sakurajima is the symbol of Kagoshima City. It rises approximately 1,117 meters above sea level and offers beautiful scenery in each of the four seasons. In particular, the smoke emitted by the volcano and the eruptions it produces are very powerful and attract many tourists.
Udo Jingu Shrine: Facing the Sea of Hyuga in southern Miyazaki Prefecture, this is the representative shrine of southern Kyushu. The main shrine, painted in bright vermilion, is located in a cave on a promontory jutting out into the sea. The mysterious atmosphere of the cave is home to power spots called “O-mami-iwa” (breast-feeding rock) and “O-mami-sui” (breast-feeding water), which are believed to bring blessings for safe childbirth, child-rearing, and match-making.
Day6 TAKACHIHO GORGE→ASO KUSASENRIGAHAMA→ASO
Takachiho Gorge: This beautiful gorge in Takachiho-cho, Miyazaki Prefecture, offers mysterious natural scenery. The 7-kilometer-long gorge has sheer rock walls, waterfalls, and clear streams, and “Manai Falls” is especially known for its beauty. Takachiho Gorge, a special space where nature and myth are woven together to heal and inspire visitors, is a must-visit destination when visiting Miyazaki.
Aso Kusasenrigahama: This beautiful highland stretches across Aso City, Kumamoto Prefecture, and offers a spectacular view of the majestic Mt. The vast grasslands are home to grazing cattle and horses, which can be seen relaxing in the midst of nature. In addition, Kusasenrigahama has well-maintained walking paths where visitors can enjoy hiking and picnicking. On a clear day, the contrast between the blue sky and greenery is beautiful and ideal for photography. There are also hot spring resorts in the vicinity, where visitors can enjoy a moment of healing after a day of nature.
Day7 KUJU FLOWER PARK→KUJUYUME BRIDGE→HOT SRPING
Kujuu Flower Park: This is a beautiful flower theme park located in Kuju-cho, Kumamoto Prefecture. The vast grounds are filled with seasonal flowers, especially tulips and poppies in spring and sunflowers in summer, which delight visitors. In addition to the flower gardens, the park also has playground equipment, walking paths, and restaurants, making it a fun spot for families and couples alike. The view from the observatory is particularly spectacular, contrasting beautifully with the surrounding mountains.
Kujuuyume Bridge: This beautiful pedestrian bridge in Kujuu Town, Kumamoto Prefecture, is known as the highest pedestrian bridge in Japan, with a total length of 390 meters and a height of 173 meters. Located in the midst of the great outdoors, the bridge offers visitors a beautiful panoramic view of the Kujuu Mountain Range and its magnificent valleys. The bridge is especially beautiful when visited during the season of autumn leaves and fresh green leaves. Since the bridge is for pedestrians only, visitors can stroll along in peace while enjoying the scenery.
Day8 BLOOD POND→DAZAIFU TENMANGU SHRINE→FUKUOKA
Beppu Blood Pond: One of the famous hells in Beppu City, Oita Prefecture, is characterized by its red-colored hot spring ponds. This hot spring has a unique red color due to its high iron content, making it a visually striking spot. The Pool of Blood has a well-maintained walking trail around it, allowing tourists to access the pond and enjoy its mysterious beauty.
Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine: Located in Dazaifu City, Fukuoka Prefecture, this prominent shrine enshrines Sugawara no Michizane, the god of learning, and was founded in 927 and has since been worshipped by many students preparing for exams and those who aspire to academic excellence. The shrine grounds are spacious, with a beautiful torii gate, a magnificent main shrine, and plum trees scattered about. Especially during the plum blossom season, many tourists visit the shrine to enjoy the gorgeous scenery. Every year, during the examination season, the shrine is crowded with visitors, many of whom come to pray for success in the examinations.
